With over ten years of experience, I trained in piano tuning, restoration, and repair at the renowned Newark School of Musical Instrument Crafts, and have since undertaken further professional development in servicing and regulation at the Royal Academy of Music in London. If you are noticing problems such as notes failing to sound when playing softly or your instrument has inconsistent touch it is likely time for a service to restore the full dynamic range and.playability of your piano.

The frequency at which a piano needs tuning can vary depending on several factors, including the piano's age, quality, environmental conditions, and usage. In general, most pianos benefit from regular tuning at least once or twice a year
A pitch raise, also known as a pitch correction or pitch adjustment, involves raising the pitch of all the strings of a piano to return it to standard pitch before a fine-tuning is performed. The purpose of a pitch raise is to correct a piano that has fallen significantly flat due to various factors such as changes in temperature and humidity, neglect, or a long period without tuning.
In some cases, such as in older pianos or pianos in poor condition, it may not be advisable to perform a pitch raise as the additional tension of the stings could lead to damage or make the piano unstable. In this instance I would simply tune the piano to itself and a standard fee of £75 would apply.

This really depends on the condition of the instrument but I normally expect an appointment to last between one to two hours.
Yes, it is likely your piano will need to be tuned after it has been moved to a new location. Where possible I advise waiting a week or two to give the instrument some time to acclimatise to its new environment.
